Dear audience,
Due to job loss and various other issues, migrants continue to return to their home states. After Uttar Pradesh, Bihar is the second-biggest supplier of laborers and unskilled workers. Different industries need a large pool of cheap labor force to manufacture a wide range of essential goods and services. Reverse migration, triggered by coronavirus & subsequent lockdowns, have now started to create chaos & unrest in Bihar. Let's know more.
A large number of families in Bihar heavily rely on remittances sent by their migrant relatives for their survival. As migrant workers have lost their jobs & start to return Bihar little by little, remittances sent to this poor & undeveloped state have reduced sharply. It seems that Bihar's Money Order Economy is in danger.
In Bihar, cash flow in the market has dried up. People are not withdrawing money from their bank accounts. As a result, the local economy & market start to crash. Lack of income is also creating controversies in families. Family members, who were happy with the return of their "earning members" from other states, now look unhappy due to the lack of income & increasing conflicts between relatives. It is noteworthy that Bihar is an undeveloped & backward state with no good job opportunities for eligible people. So, once lockdown is removed, migrant workers will return to work to earn money & support their families. More details to follow!
