As reported by us earlier, India PM Modi addressed the nation through Live Television Broadcast & announced the extension of lockdown period & an economic stimulus package worth 20 lakh crores to help industries & individuals. Several people praised the PM's announcement. I also listened to some parts of the live speech. But, I am totally unimpressed with PM's approach to this coronavirus crisis and his intention to keep people in the dark regarding the extension of lockdown periods.
India is home to some 1.3 billion people. At a time when Chinese virus started to spread across the world, the Indian government's delayed announcement of lockdown helped this fatal disease to enter the country. India's flawed healthcare system is simply unfit to cope with the massive pressure of patients if the Coronavirus epidemic goes rampant in India.
India is being praised across the world over its success to keep the coronavirus epidemic under control. However, the ground situation is quite pathetic. It seems there is a lack of coordination between the central government & different state governments due to the difference in political ideologies. The government of India requested individuals to donate in the PM's care fund. However, the government is not releasing the data on how the collected fund is being used. Some social media users are sceptical about the use of people's donation to the PM's care fund & demanding clarification from the government.
As a common citizen of this country, I have no shame to admit that India still lies in the category of 3rd world countries. There is large-scale mismanagement all across the nation. It seems that lockdown was implemented in a great hurry without creating a plan of action. Due to the sudden announcement of lockdown, a large number of migrant workers are trapped in other states.
They are jobless with no access to food and grocery items. Despite the government's notification to landlords not to collect room rents from helpless individuals, many landlords pressed tenants about room rents, forcing them to vacate their rooms & embark on a long & dangerous journey to their home states on foot, rickshaw, and bicycles. Several people died en route during their desperate efforts to return to the home states. Now, special trains are being run by the government of India to help trapped migrant workers go to their home states. Still, a large number of individuals are trapped in other states.
Since the announcement of lockdown part 1, as a responsible citizen of this country, I have been following all guidelines instructed by the government of India. The law enforcement agencies did not act decisively to stop the carriers of coronavirus (Jamati elements, brainless Muslims who organized crowds at mosques to offer namaz despite prohibition, willful rule-breakers, etc). As a result, coronavirus spread all across India. All densely populated metro cities in India are declared red zones because of the rapidly growing cases of coronavirus.
While addressing the nation, PM Modi delivered a routine lecture-like statement & did not clarify a number of issues. He did not reveal the steps taken by the government of India to address the problems faced by the public due to the subsequent extensions of lockdown. The government of India is not telling the exact time period of lockdown.
Due to lockdown extensions, the government's flawed response to the coronavirus epidemic, a large number of people in India are experiencing difficulties. Business organisations, companies, traders, common Individuals, etc, are witnessing tremendous losses every day due to the suspension of all economic activities. Indian economy is crushing.
Dear PM Modi, We common Indians are not here to view your PR drama every time. Kindly tell us the exact days of lockdown period. Create a nationwide disaster response & crisis management team to help the needy individuals and address the core issues of the nation. You can't lock down entire India for an indefinite time in the name of fighting the coronavirus epidemic. Your foolish & hasty decision to implement demonetization & GST without doing the proper groundwork has created havoc in the life of millions of Indian and contracted Indian Economy up to 40%.
Where is your promise to create ample jobs for youths, raise India's exports, double the income of farmers, etc? So far, you have proved yourself as a showman & drama artist, who aim to make people fool in the name of Hinduism & nationalism. Common Indians will judge your performance on how well you perform economically for India & make people's life easier. You can't expect people will support you all times despite your foolish actions. Please ensure that every needy Indian gets its slice from the announced 20 lakh crore package. It should not go into the pocket of elite classes. Jay hind. A frustrated Indian.
